On January 5, a Suzuki sedan collided with a utility pole on Kanchanaphisek Road near the left-turn exit to Phetkasem Road, causing a chain reaction that brought down 12 poles. The accident damaged two other vehicles, left one person injured, and resulted in partial lane closures, leaving only two right-hand lanes open. Traffic in the area was severely congested.
The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) reported power outages in the vicinity due to the fallen poles. Repair crews are working urgently to restore electricity and clear the road. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. The MEA apologized for the inconvenience caused.
