On May 23, reports confirmed ongoing recovery efforts for Mr. Sarawut "Dao" Chantasorn, a 33-year-old construction worker from Sisaket Province, who was buried and fell into a 19-meter-deep bored pile shaft due to a landslide at the Orange Line’s Lan Luang Station (OR06) construction site near Soi Lan Luang 8, Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, Bangkok. The incident occurred in the afternoon of May 19.

At around 9:00 p.m., USAR rescue personnel and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation resumed their search. Ropes were used to descend into the shaft, and safety lines were placed around the site. Police from Nang Loeng Station, forensic physicians from Vajira Hospital, and monks were present for the spiritual rites to invite the deceased’s spirit.

Authorities are reportedly finalizing plans to retrieve Mr. Sarawut’s body from the shaft as soon as possible.
