Anutin Charnvirakul

On March 19, 2026, at the Parliament, the House of Representatives convened to vote for a new Prime Minister. Members of the 16-party coalition nominated Anutin Charnvirakul for the position, while the opposition, led by the People’s Party, nominated Nattapong Ruangpanyawut. Sophon Saram, a Buri Ram MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, presided over the session as Speaker of the House.

Voting results:
A total of 18 parties voted for Anutin, giving him 293 votes. Notably, he received 1 vote from Suriya Wongaree, an MP from Udon Thani (District 7) of the opposition People’s Party.
