Ms. Napaphat Anchasanichamon (widely known as "Joy"), the wife of the late Provincial Councilor Chaimate Sithisinnipong (“Tong”), has officially announced her candidacy for the President of the Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) of Prachinburi. The announcement comes following the recent passing of Chaimate under circumstances that have drawn significant public attention.
At Chaimate’s burial ceremony on December 18, 2024, held at Wat Makok Simaram in Prachinburi, Captain Thamanat Prompow, a member of the Kla Tham Party, accompanied Ms. Napaphat and spoke to the media. Captain Thamanat, who recently joined the Kla Tham Party after being expelled from the Palang Pracharath Party, expressed his condolences, stating that Chaimate was a dear friend. He revealed that shortly before Chaimate’s death, he had introduced both Chaimate and Ms. Napaphat to Thaksin Shinawatra, a key figure assisting with the Pheu Thai Party’s campaign efforts.
Ms. Napaphat confirmed her intention to run for the Prachinburi PAO presidency under the Pheu Thai Party, emphasizing that this decision honors her late husband's vision and commitment to seeing her take on the leadership role. She expressed determination to carry on Chaimate’s political aspirations.
