On the night of December 11, around 9:00 PM, an armed attack occurred at the home of Mr. Sunthorn Vilawan and Mrs. Kanokwan Vilawan, former Deputy Minister of Education, in Prachinburi province. The assailants, reportedly three in number and heavily armed, infiltrated the two-story house. Gunfire was heard during the attack, and one person was injured.

Police confirmed that the deceased was Mr. Chaimeth Sitthisanitpong, previously known as Mr. Tempong Rittidet, also referred to as "Sor Jor Tong" a prominent local figure and the adopted son of Mr. Sunthorn.

A news report by the Facebook page "Sorrayuth Suthassanachinda, the Journalist" shared images showing the body of Mr. Chaimeth lying on the staircase of the house. He was wearing a maroon T-shirt and black shorts, with evidence of being shot by a military-grade weapon.

Inside the house, authorities found two firearms: a military rifle and a 9mm handgun. Additionally, more than 10 9mm bullet casings were discovered near the pathway leading to the building.
