At 3:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025, authorities confirmed that Chinese actor Xing Xing, who had gone missing on January 3 near the Thai-Myanmar border, has been safely returned to Thailand. He was located earlier at Shwe Kokko in Myanmar.
Initially, Myanmar officials planned to transfer Xing Xing via the Friendship Bridge 1, but logistical constraints led to the handover at a natural border crossing instead. Thai military and immigration police successfully received him and confirmed his safety.
Xing Xing is now under the care of Thai police for further questioning regarding the circumstances of his disappearance and time in Myanmar.
