On June 16 at 3:00 PM, government sources revealed that Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra summoned Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for a discussion in her office. She informed him of her decision to reshuffle the Cabinet, particularly by reassigning the Ministry of Interior to be overseen by the Pheu Thai Party.
In exchange, Pheu Thai proposed handing over the Ministry of Public Health and adding the Ministry of Commerce to Bhumjaithai's portfolio.
According to reports, the Prime Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Interior is a major portfolio, which Pheu Thai aims to control. In return, they are offering Bhumjaithai two ministries: Public Health and Commerce. Mr. Anutin was expected to discuss the Prime Minister’s decision with his party’s ministers and MPs later that evening.
