On June 24, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra confirmed that the Cabinet reshuffle is now finalized after discussions with all coalition party leaders. Some names have already been submitted for qualifications review, and the rest will be processed before formally presenting the list to His Majesty the King. She also affirmed that internal issues within the United Thai Nation Party have been resolved.
Addressing rumors that Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, who also leads the United Thai Nation Party, pressured her to resign, Paetongtarn denied the claims. She stated that their relationship remains normal and confirmed they had spoken at the Rosewood Hotel on June 22. All coalition parties, she added, continue to support and encourage her, and the coalition remains strong.
Meanwhile, Bhumjaithai Party spokesperson Boonthida Somchai announced after the party’s first official opposition meeting that the party plans to file a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister and the entire Cabinet under Article 151 of the Constitution once Parliament reconvenes on July 3. She invited fellow opposition parties—People’s Party, Palang Pracharath, Fair Party, and Thai Sang Thai—to co-sign the motion, citing the Prime Minister’s recent conduct.
“The party’s resolution today is that all 69 Bhumjaithai MPs will jointly sign the no-confidence motion. The leaked audio is clear enough—there is no longer any trust in the Prime Minister,” Boonthida stated, adding that opposition discussions on the matter are expected within the coming week.
