On June 16, it was revealed that the Election Commission’s (EC) Subcommittee on Central Investigation and Inquiry (Panel 26), in coordination with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), had summoned about 20 individuals as part of the seventh batch of suspects involved in alleged Senate election vote-rigging. The summonses were issued between June 14–15 following a June 13 meeting.

Among those summoned are prominent political figures from the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT), including:

  1. Newin Chidchob, party mentor
  2. Anutin Charnvirakul, party leader and Interior Minister
  3. Pradorn Prisananantakul, Deputy House Speaker
  4. Chaiyanon Chidchob, party secretary-general
  5. Karavee Prisananantakul, MP
  6. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, former MP and Education Ministry assistant
  7. Thanayot Thimsuwan, MP for Loei
  8. Jeset Thaiseth, MP for Uthai Thani
  9. Boonthida Somchai (Nan), MP and party spokesperson
  10. Warasit Liangprasert, MP for Satun

The accused may present their defense, after which the subcommittee will decide whether to forward the case to the Supreme Court's Election Division.

Bhumjaithai spokesperson Boonthida confirmed that the party is ready to clarify its position, insisting no wrongdoing occurred. The four allegations are:

  1. Involvement in district, provincial, and national Senate selections
  2. Payments to influence Senate votes
  3. Distribution of vote-fixing lists
  4. Forcing Senate candidates to sign undated resignation letters

She emphasized that these alleged actions undermine election integrity. Boonthida reiterated the party's commitment to democratic principles and said all accused will defend their honor through legal means.

Bhumjaithai questioned the impartiality of Panel 26, raising concerns over possible DSI influence and political motivations behind the probe — including the potential dissolution of the party.

In related developments, the ruling Pheu Thai Party is reportedly pressing ahead with plans to take control of the Interior Ministry in an upcoming Cabinet reshuffle, offering the Health Ministry to Bhumjaithai in exchange.
