On November 28, heavy flooding in Thepha District, Songkhla, continued to worsen, expanding into wider areas and even reaching the flood evacuation center at the Thepha Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO), the area’s highest ground. Despite this, water levels continued to rise. Officials at the evacuation center and Thepha SAO were forced to quickly move supplies and relocate vehicles as the water surged unexpectedly and rapidly.
In Moo 3, Ban Pru Mak, Thepha Subdistrict, along the Thepha-Lam Phlai road, water from nearby districts, including Saba Yoi, caused rising levels that left several residents stranded in their homes. Many trapped residents included children and the elderly, further complicating evacuation efforts. Water levels in some areas exceeded 2 meters, with strong currents, making rescue operations increasingly difficult. Residents have requested evacuation support to nearby safe zones, such as a mosque located 1 kilometer away.
The situation remains critical, with no immediate signs of improvement, prompting calls for urgent intervention.
