On December 4, reports from Songkhla province detailed the impact of flooding on railway routes in Southern Thailand, affecting 25 locations across five provinces. These include 22 points on the Hat Yai–Su-ngai Kolok line and three on the Hat Yai–Padang Besar line. Authorities have repaired 17 points, with five currently under repair (Songkhla: 3, Yala: 2) and three awaiting action (Songkhla: 2, Pattani: 1). The total estimated damage stands at 11,994,300 baht.

Provincial Impact and Recovery:

  • Phatthalung: Floodwaters eroded tracks over 250 meters, but all six affected points have been repaired, and normal operations have resumed.
  • Songkhla: Twelve damaged points were reported, with seven repaired, three under repair, and two awaiting action. Severe damage occurred between Khao Saba–Thepha and Thepha–Ta Paet stations.
  • Pattani: Three points were affected; two have been fixed, and one is pending repairs.
  • Yala: Three points were damaged; one is repaired, and two are under repair.
  • Narathiwat: Damage to one location between Raman and Rue So stations has been fully repaired.

Authorities have pledged to restore damaged rail routes as quickly as possible to ensure passenger safety and convenience. Additionally, enhanced monitoring measures are being implemented in high-risk areas.
