On June 16, Ang Thong MP Karunveer Prisananuntakul from the Bhumjaithai Party confirmed that both he and Ang Thong MP Faradon Prisananuntakul, also the Second Deputy House Speaker, received summonses from the Election Commission (EC) related to the alleged collusion in the Senate election.
Karunveer noted that the official letters sent to both himself and Faradon were identical in content except for their names. He said the party would hold an internal discussion that same day (June 16) to determine a collective response, including whether to issue a formal statement. He emphasized that the issue is not personal but affects the party as a whole.
“The letters from the EC were sent specifically to members of Bhumjaithai's executive committee. It raises the question of whether there's an underlying motive to dissolve the party. However, after reviewing the allegations, no specific misconduct or details were mentioned. I firmly deny any wrongdoing and am not worried,” Karunveer said.
When asked whether the case was related to rumors of Bhumjaithai being removed from the coalition government, Karunveer said he didn’t believe so. He suggested it might just be a coincidence in timing.
