On May 23, Ms. Pakamon Nunanan, list MP and deputy spokesperson for the People’s Party (PPC), discussed preparations for the upcoming 2026 national budget bill debate, revealing that the party is ready with over 50 speakers to thoroughly address all key issues—large or small—that directly impact Thai citizens' quality of life.

She emphasized that the government’s current budget planning fails to reflect the economic reality faced by the public. With Thailand’s main income sources—exports and tourism—plagued by global economic challenges, the state’s investment is the only remaining buffer. However, she criticized the administration for nearing a financial collapse, especially due to the massive spending on the digital wallet handout program, the third phase of which has now been indefinitely postponed.

Ms. Pakamon stated that the PPC will spotlight wasteful budget allocations and propose funding solutions through targeted budget cuts. She encouraged the public to closely follow the parliamentary debate from May 28 to 31, as the PPC aims to redirect funds toward initiatives that truly address Thailand’s economic and social needs.
