On May 21 at 9:30 AM, members of Thailand’s House of Representatives convened for a bipartisan whip committee meeting to coordinate the extraordinary parliamentary session from May 28 to 31. The session will prioritize deliberation on the FY2026 budget bill.

Mr. Wisut Chainaroon, Chair of the Government Whip, stated that there was no conflict over the allocation of debate time. May 28 will cover two draft acts and two emergency decrees, expected to conclude by 5 PM before proceeding to the budget bill. The remaining three days will focus solely on the budget bill, with 41 hours allocated—20 hours each for government and opposition, and 1 hour for the Speaker.

Opposition Whip Chair Mr. Pakornwut Udompipatsakul said the initial vote on the bill will be completed by May 31 at 6 PM. He emphasized thorough scrutiny and indicated no major protests are anticipated.

Minister Monporn Charoensri added that the Prime Minister instructed all Cabinet members to be prepared for full participation and transparency during the budget debate.

She also confirmed discussions with Bhumjaithai Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul, who expressed full support for passing the budget. Wisut reaffirmed that all coalition parties are aligned and there should be no concern about dissent.
