At 2:00 PM on May 27, Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) leaders, including Deputy Economic Chief Teerachai Phuwanatnaranubala, MPs Chaimongkol Chairob (Sakon Nakhon), and Akara Thongjaisod (Phetchabun), held a press briefing after a party executive meeting chaired by Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan.

The meeting focused on the upcoming parliamentary debate over the 2026 fiscal budget, particularly the 157-billion-baht stimulus package. The PPRP criticized the government for lacking a clear, effective plan to ensure the budget benefits local communities and addresses the cost-of-living crisis.

Teerachai outlined three core concerns, labeling the plan as "Three Nos":

  1. No empowerment for communities – The plan fails to strengthen grassroots economies or consult local needs.
  2. No national efficiency – The budget is fragmented across too many projects with no strategic coherence.
  3. No anti-corruption safeguards – The timeline for project submissions (May 20–23) was suspiciously rushed, suggesting hidden agendas and recycled, non-essential projects.

He proposed shifting focus to community-level infrastructure, such as small-scale agricultural equipment and cost-saving solutions, and called for clearer, weighted criteria (e.g., 70% community benefit, 30% transparency), with public access to project evaluations.

MP Chaimongkol added that the budget appears hastily constructed, allegedly due to international economic changes. He warned that the distribution seems concentrated in ministries allied with the ruling party, fueling suspicions of political favoritism and collusion.

The PPRP firmly opposes the current budget plan, arguing it prioritizes political allies over public welfare.
