On May 20, 2025, reporters at Parliament revealed details of the upcoming special session of the House of Representatives, scheduled for May 28–30, to deliberate the first reading of the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Bill, totaling 3.78 trillion baht. This marks an increase of 27.9 billion baht (0.7%) compared to the FY2025 budget and represents 18.9% of GDP.

According to the Budget Bureau’s published draft, budget allocations are as follows:

  1. Central Fund: 632.97 billion baht (16.7%), down by 24.8%
  2. Agency Allocations: 1.41 trillion baht (37.2%)
  3. Integrated Budgeting: 98.77 billion baht (2.6%)
  4. Personnel Costs: 820.82 billion baht (21.7%)
  5. Revolving Funds: 274.58 billion baht (7.3%)
  6. Public Debt Repayment: 421.86 billion baht (11.2%)
  7. Treasury Reserve Replenishment: 123.54 billion baht (3.3%) – newly included for FY2026

Projected Revenue:

  • Gross revenue: 3.49 trillion baht
  • Net revenue after tax refunds: 2.92 trillion baht
  • Budget deficit: 860 billion baht (22.7% of projected revenue), to be financed via borrowing.
