The 22nd Samui Regatta, Thailand’s internationally recognized sailing competition, is scheduled to take place from May 24–31, 2025, along the famed Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui. The race hub will be based at Nora Beach Resort & Spa, with over 200 sailors from 10 countries expected to participate.

Mr. Teerut Supawiboonpol, Governor of Surat Thani, stated that the province is proud to host this prestigious event. With its stunning coastal scenery and comprehensive infrastructure — including two airports and multiple seaports and hotels — Surat Thani is well-equipped to welcome international athletes and tourists. The regatta is anticipated to generate over 50 million baht annually for the local economy.

Mr. Supharerk Thongsuk, President of the Samui Tourism Promotion Association, highlighted the regatta’s role in promoting Koh Samui as a world-class sailing and tourism destination. He noted its geographic appeal, consistent sea conditions, and top-tier accommodations, which have earned it international acclaim — including a #3 global destination ranking by The New York Times and a top-10 airport ranking by Smart Travel Asia.

Mr. Warasit Phongkampan, Deputy Managing Director of Nora Group Hotels and former president of Samui’s tourism association, noted growing international participation, including high-profile new entrants. This year will feature large IRC Zero class yachts with participants from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, the UK, and the US.

The regatta is co-organized by the Samui Regatta Committee, Yacht Racing Association of Thailand, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and local tourism bodies, with major sponsorship from Nora Beach Resort & Spa and Fair House Beach Resort & Hotel.

Established in 2001 with just 11 yachts, Samui Regatta has since flourished as a cornerstone event in the Asian Yachting Circuit, promoting Samui as a top global sailing destination and advancing water sports in Thailand.
