Chonburi FC has officially named Thawatchai Damrong-Ongtrakul as their new head coach, tasked with leading the team in the second leg of the Thai League 2 (2024/25 season). The club aims to secure promotion to the Thai League 1 next season.
Thawatchai, 50, is a seasoned coach with extensive experience in Thai football, having managed clubs such as Chiangrai United, Pattaya United, Police United, Bangkok United, Chainat Hornbill, Nakhon Pathom United, PT Prachuap FC, Nongbua Pitchaya FC, and Police Tero FC.
He will oversee Chonburi FC’s training session for the first time on December 30, 2024, as the team prepares for their opening match of the second leg against Pluakdaeng FC at Chonburi Daikin Stadium on January 5, 2025, at 6:30 PM.
Currently, Chonburi FC is 5th in the Thai League 2 standings with 30 points from 17 matches, trailing league leaders Phrae United, who sit at 38 points.
