On January 8, Futoshi Ikeda, the newly appointed head coach of the Thailand women's national football team, began his tenure with immediate action. Following his official signing and unveiling, Ikeda held a planning meeting with the women's national team division to prepare for FIFA Day camps and monitor players' progress in the Thai Women's League 2025, set to commence on February 1.
The meeting included key figures such as Ekaphon Phonnawi, Deputy Secretary-General for Competition, and Nuengruethai Sathongwien, Director of Women’s Football. Discussions centered on scheduling FIFA Day matches, with the first event planned for late February 2025.
The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) confirmed that the Thai women’s national team will compete in the Pink Ladies Cup in Dubai, UAE, from February 19-27, 2025. The FAT also plans to scout players of Thai descent, including dual nationals playing abroad, with over 20 profiles submitted for consideration.
Key tournaments for the Thai women’s team in 2025 include:
- 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers (June 23 – January 5, 2025).
- 33rd SEA Games in Thailand (December 2025).
