At 12:30 p.m. on June 13 in Ubon Ratchathani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the investigation into the Social Security Office’s (SSO) controversial purchase of the SKYY9 building—reportedly valued at 3 billion baht but bought for 7 billion baht. He explained that the matter falls outside his direct supervisory role. Though he cannot initiate disciplinary action personally, he has pushed the Labour Minister to act swiftly and lawfully. The Ministry of Interior has already submitted its findings.

When asked whether he felt pressured by Bangkok MP Rakchanok Srinork of the People’s Party, who has been persistently calling for an investigation, Anutin responded that she is doing her duty as an MP. He added that the disciplinary process was already underway before Rakchanok's involvement and welcomed the scrutiny, noting that it adds credibility and transparency to the investigation.

When questioned about whether the investigation would result in any accountability, Anutin stressed that all actions must strictly follow the law, prioritizing government interests. He assured that no exceptions or delays would be tolerated.

Anutin further revealed that there is clear preliminary evidence showing the building is worth about 3 billion baht, yet was purchased for more than 6 billion baht. The unexplained price gap must be investigated. However, he noted that the final judgment cannot be made until the buyer’s side presents its justification, and the Labour Ministry provides clarification.

When asked about Rakchanok’s comment that she would respect Anutin if he genuinely followed through with the investigation, he confidently replied, “She can respect me now—because I absolutely will. If I didn’t mean it, I couldn’t continue in my role.”
