Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, in his capacity as Bhumjaithai Party leader, appointed Ms. Jitra Meethong, a member of Mr. Santi Prompat's team (a key figure among the six Phetchabun MPs from the Palang Pracharath Party), as an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior on June 9th. This appointment has led to speculation about a political realignment.
Following this, on the evening of June 11th, photographs emerged showing Mr. Chada Thaisedth, an Uthai Thani MP and a key figure in the Bhumjaithai Party, having dinner with Mr. Santi Prompat and Mr. Akkaradej Thongjaibod (also known as "Kodoy"), the President of the Phetchabun Provincial Administrative Organization, at a Bangkok hotel. It is widely anticipated that Mr. Santi and Mr. Akkaradej will bring the Phetchabun MPs from the Palang Pracharath Party to join Bhumjaithai.
Further fueling these rumors, a leaked photo also showed Mr. Newin Chidchob, a prominent figure and "guru" of the Bhumjaithai Party, having dinner with Mr. Santi and Mr. Akkaradej, suggesting a significant political move is underway.
