On May 24, 2025, Bangkok MP Natcha Boonchaiinsawat from the Prachachon Party commented on the upcoming parliamentary debate on the 2026 Budget Bill, scheduled for May 29–31. He stated that his party has thoroughly prepared a strategic plan, launching the slogan, "This time, we even help the government find money." Natcha argued that the government's proposed budget framework is misaligned with the current global and domestic circumstances, such as U.S. trade tariffs and other pressing issues. He emphasized that the budget allocations do not reflect the real needs of the people, nor the promises made by the Prime Minister.
When asked if the Prachachon Party will target specific ministries during the debate, Natcha responded that every ministry will be scrutinized. He noted that coalition parties appear to be operating independently, with signs pointing to early election preparations. Thus, the 2026 budget scrutiny will focus on whether political parties are leveraging ministry budgets for pre-election campaigns.
Regarding the tensions between the Senate and the government, Natcha predicted a fierce debate, revealing cracks within the ruling coalition. He believes the four-day debate will clarify whether the government can still move forward and whether any hidden political agendas are embedded in the 2026 budget.
Addressing the increased defense and security budget, Natcha criticized it as a quid-pro-quo for the Prime Minister’s political survival, suggesting such allocations ignore the real needs of the people—namely economic recovery, healthcare, and environmental concerns. He concluded that this type of government formation leads to widespread and ongoing negative impacts.
