At 12:50 p.m. on May 20, 2025, at Government House, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul spoke to reporters after escorting Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to the Thai Khu Fah building following the conclusion of the Cabinet meeting.
Anutin revealed that the Prime Minister had previously arranged to meet with leaders of the coalition parties after the Cabinet meeting to discuss the draft Budget Bill for fiscal year 2026, which is scheduled for its first reading in the House of Representatives on May 28. He confirmed that all coalition parties expressed full support for the bill and requested that any referenced issues be clarified by the relevant ministries.
When asked whether the Prime Minister expressed concern about the current political situation, Anutin responded that she did not. “The atmosphere is good,” he said, noting that the PM will be traveling abroad for official duties for about a week. “She simply asked that everything be handled smoothly during her absence,” he added.
