Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, responded to a party dissolution petition filed by Nathaporn Toprayoon, former advisor to the Ombudsman. Speaking at Government House on May 19 at 11:20 AM, Anutin claimed he doesn't know who Nathaporn is and dismissed the petition as "nonsense."
When asked about confidence that his party wouldn't face legal violations, Anutin insisted they have never done anything wrong, stating that all party members fulfill their duties properly in both executive and legislative branches. He emphasized that no wrongdoing has occurred.
Regarding Nathaporn's accusation that Bhumjaithai Party seeks to overthrow the government, Anutin laughed and called it "daydreaming." He noted that Nathaporn had previously filed a similar petition against the Move Forward Party, dismissing such actions as lacking substance or merit.
When questioned about potential political accidents, Anutin expressed confidence, stating "Never, I'm confident we've never done anything bad."
Concerning senators providing testimony to the Election Commission about vote-buying cases, Anutin claimed no knowledge, saying it falls under legislative authority. When asked about General Kriangkrai Srirak, Deputy Senate Speaker and his close friend being involved, Anutin clearly separated personal relationships from professional duties, stating "Friends are friends, work is work."
Regarding discussions about appointing someone to oversee the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) replacing Police General Thaweesak Trutairat as Justice Minister, Anutin denied any involvement, stating he works for the Interior Ministry and such matters don't fall under his supervision.
