On January 8, the Office of the Judiciary issued an official statement refuting claims circulating on social media that Supreme Court President Chanakan Theerawatpolkul had ordered an inquiry into the Department of Corrections' alleged violations of ministerial regulations in handling Thaksin Shinawatra’s detention.
The reports, initially published on a popular online news page, alleged that a directive dated December 30, 2024, called for an investigation into irregularities in detention procedures. It claimed that the judiciary was gathering evidence to prepare for a transparent judicial process.
The Office of the Judiciary clarified that the information is entirely false. The statement emphasized that no such order or directive had been issued, urging the public to rely on official sources for accurate information.
