On December 30, Mr. Veerish Amrapal, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), reported a significant increase in rail travel during the New Year holiday period. On December 29 alone, 93,744 passengers utilized train services nationwide. Of these, 93,039 traveled on regular trains, while 705 used special additional services. The majority were outbound travelers, totaling 50,814, compared to 42,930 inbound passengers. The Southern Line saw the heaviest traffic, with 30,499 passengers, followed by the Northeastern (23,715), Northern (18,143), Eastern (11,636), Mahachai (7,779), and Maeklong (1,972) lines.

To ensure passenger safety, the SRT emphasized four key guidelines for those using its services: verifying ticket details before travel, avoiding accepting items from strangers, refraining from drinking alcohol or smoking (as these are legally prohibited), and promptly reporting suspicious behavior or incidents to train staff or station officials. These measures reflect the SRT's commitment to providing safe and convenient travel as a New Year’s gift to the public.
