On December 14, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra expressed frustration during a Pheu Thai seminar in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, over coalition ministers missing a crucial Cabinet meeting. He criticized their absences during the approval of key Royal Decrees on international tax measures, calling their actions evasive and uncooperative. Thaksin stressed the importance of collective responsibility in government, stating, "If we’re in this together, we must fight together. If you don’t want to stay, say it clearly. Don’t run away. If you run, submit your resignation—it’s that simple."

The Cabinet meeting on December 11 approved two draft Royal Decrees on corporate tax reform. According to reports, seven ministers were absent, including Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, and Foreign Affairs Minister Marut Seng-em Pongsa. Three of the absent ministers were from the Bhumjaithai Party, though Anutin eventually joined the meeting after it began. Some absences were attributed to prior commitments, such as Deputy Interior Minister Songsak Thongsri attending a ministry event and Education Deputy Minister Surasak Phanthacharoenwong citing personal reasons.

Thaksin's remarks have reignited discussions about the cohesion and commitment of the ruling coalition, underscoring the challenges of maintaining unified governance amid internal disagreements.
