Following the collapse of beams and cranes at a construction site on Rama II Road, between Kok Krabue and Mahachai in Samut Sakhon Province, multiple fatalities and injuries were reported. On December 4, Governor Narit Niramaivongs chaired a meeting with stakeholders, including the construction contractor and related agencies, to address responsibilities and expedite aid for affected families.

Compensation Details:

During the meeting, compensation figures were finalized as follows:

1. Mr. Apiwat Phaphanthang: Family to receive 2,477,075.36 THB.

2. Mr. Sutath Boonrueang: Family to receive 4,783,874.26 THB.

3. Four deceased migrant workers: Families will receive 1,000,000 THB each through coordination with the Myanmar Embassy.

Support for Injured Victims:

Thai nationals: Full medical expenses covered by the Workmen’s Compensation Fund for treatment in public hospitals, with up to 1,000,000 THB provided for private hospital care.

Migrant workers: Employers are mandated by the Social Security Office to pay medical expenses under the same guidelines as the Workmen’s Compensation Fund.

Immediate Actions and Ceremonies:

Governor Narit instructed all agencies to prioritize proactive support, ensuring prompt delivery of benefits and compensation to those affected. A ceremony was held to provide an initial 1,000,000 THB each to the families of Mr. Apiwat Phaphanthang and Mr. Sutath Boonrueang. The Managing Director of Udomsak Chiang Mai Co., Ltd., Mr. Pisit Trakansiri, presented these funds as a legal responsibility and to provide moral support. A merit-making ceremony for the deceased was also organized.
