Heavy rainfall in Yala Province caused severe flooding, leading to the collapse of a rural bridge on Route YL.4044, which connects Highway 4326 to the Yarom Reservoir in Betong District. The Department of Rural Roads (DRR) responded promptly, deploying staff from the Songkhla Rural Roads Office and the Yala Rural Roads Office to assess the damage and install a temporary Bailey Bridge. This bridge has now been completed and opened for public use, restoring connectivity to affected areas.
DRR Director-General Montri Dechasakulsom advised residents to exercise caution when traveling through the repaired area and to follow safety instructions. For assistance, residents can contact the local rural roads office or the DRR hotline at 1146.
Additionally, the Yala Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) expressed gratitude for the swift action. Plans are underway to construct a permanent bridge spanning 100 meters across the Pattani River. The project, expected to take 400 days, will run parallel to the damaged structure. The DRR is preparing to secure the necessary budget to expedite construction.
