On November 11, news reports confirmed that Thailand’s Constitutional Court requested clarification from the Attorney General on a petition filed by Thirayot Suwannakesorn, a former lawyer for Phra Buddha Issara, which seeks a ruling against Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister, and the Pheu Thai Party. The petition alleges that their actions may undermine Thailand’s constitutional monarchy, as per Section 49 of the 2017 Constitution.
The Attorney General, Phairach Phonsomboonsiri, responded to the court's request on November 8. While the court initially planned to review the case on November 13, scheduling conflicts have postponed deliberations until Friday, November 22. At that time, the court will decide whether to formally accept the petition for review.
