The reporter stated that on June 9, the Royal Gazette website published a Royal Command and Royal Decree to convene the first annual session of Parliament for the year 2025, with Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra countersigning the Royal Command.
His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua granted the command on June 6, 2025, marking the 10th year of his reign.
The King graciously decreed that:
According to the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, there must be two annual ordinary sessions of Parliament each year. One of these sessions shall last 120 days, beginning on the day Parliament is first convened for that year. As a Royal Decree issued in 2023 set the start of the annual session on July 3, it is appropriate that the first annual session of Parliament for 2025 should also begin on July 3, 2025, in accordance with Section 121 of the Constitution.
By the authority of Sections 121, 122, and 175 of the Constitution, His Majesty graciously ordered the issuance of this Royal Decree to convene the first ordinary annual session of Parliament starting on July 3, 2025.
Note: The reason for issuing this Royal Decree is that Section 121, paragraph 2 of the Constitution stipulates that there shall be two annual ordinary sessions of Parliament, with one lasting 120 days. Therefore, it is necessary to issue this Royal Decree for the year 2025.
