On June 3, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) released its latest world rankings, officially naming Thailand's Kunlavut "View" Vitidsarn as the new men's singles world No. 1. This milestone follows his dominant performance at the 2025 Singapore Open, where he clinched his fourth title of the year .

Kunlavut secured the top spot with a total of 97,179 ranking points, surpassing China's Shi Yuqi, who now holds second place with 95,117 points. Denmark's Anders Antonsen ranks third with 90,453 points .

In the Singapore Open final, Kunlavut defeated China's Lu Guangzu in straight sets, 21-6, 21-10, in just 37 minutes. This victory not only added to his impressive title count but also solidified his position at the pinnacle of the world rankings .
