On May 19, 2025, reporters reported that General Prawit Wongsuwan, list MP and leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, slipped and fell in front of the ordination hall at Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm (Wat Pho) during a merit-making visit. He has since called a doctor to check his condition at home.

General Prawit was serving as the lay chairman during a royal merit-making ceremony, the chanting of the Navakkhayausamatham Mongkol, in honor of His Majesty the King, held at the ordination hall of Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm. The monastic chairman was Somdet Phra Maharatchamangkhlachan, a senior member of the Sangha Supreme Council, chief of the northern monastic sector, and abbot of Wat Pho.
