- Money was transferred from the temple’s and the abbot’s personal accounts to a female agent’s account linked to gambling websites.
- Police investigated the case for over eight months before gathering enough evidence and issuing an arrest warrant.
- The abbot surrendered to the police and decided to leave the monkhood voluntarily.
- The Sangha Supreme Council immediately removed him from his positions as abbot and regional monastic chief.
- The case is currently under legal proceedings.
