The Thai government’s flagship “30 Baht Treats All” policy has achieved nationwide coverage. Initially launched as a pilot in four provinces on January 7, 2024, the program expanded in phases, reaching Bangkok and 46 provinces before the latest approval on December 2, 2024. The fourth phase will include the remaining 31 provinces, ensuring coverage across all 77 provinces.

Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin hailed the initiative as a milestone for universal healthcare. The policy integrates digital health technologies, including a digital referral system, to improve accessibility and service efficiency. Under the scheme, citizens with national health insurance can receive care at any primary healthcare facility in the National Health Security Office (NHSO) network, regardless of their registered location.

The program emphasizes convenience, allowing patients to access participating quality drugstores and private clinics after work hours without referral slips. Key services include minor illness consultations, wound care, lab tests, physical therapy, and dental services. Specialized care for stroke recovery, hip fractures, and spinal injuries is also available.

The NHSO has partnered with innovative service providers, such as quality pharmacies and community clinics, to deliver services under seven categories:

  1. Quality Pharmacies: Minor illness treatment for 16 symptoms and medication dispensation.
  2. Warm Community Nursing Clinics: Basic medical care, wound cleaning, and injections.
  3. Community Medical Lab Clinics: Lab testing based on physician orders.
  4. Community Physical Therapy Clinics: Rehabilitation for major injuries and chronic conditions.
  5. Community Dental Clinics: Annual dental care, including cleaning and fluoride treatments.
  6. Community General Practice Clinics: Outpatient care.
  7. Traditional Thai Medicine Clinics: Herbal therapies, massage, and heat compress treatments.

Citizens can find participating providers on the NHSO website. Applications for healthcare services will open nationwide on January 6, 2025.
