On 11th December at 1:15 PM, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Karom Phonpolklang, announced at Government House that the Cabinet approved an agreement to procure monkeypox vaccines as proposed by the Ministry of Public Health. The decision comes in response to the need for vaccines to address monkeypox infections. Funding will come from leftover COVID-19 vaccine budgets, with 2,220 doses to be acquired.

Brunei currently holds the vaccine funds and will provide them under the condition that Thailand accepts responsibility for any damages incurred during use. This agreement aligns with WHO standards. The vaccines will be administered to customs officials at border checkpoints and personnel frequently interacting with the public.
