On November 28, 2024, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, announced plans to visit flood-affected areas in Southern Thailand, focusing on the southernmost provinces. During his visit to the Frontline Water Information Command Center in Surat Thani, he reviewed critical data on rainfall and flood conditions. The region has faced exceptionally heavy rainfall over the past three days, with totals reaching 500–1,000 millimeters in some areas, and more rain is forecast until November 30. Provinces such as Songkhla and Satun are particularly at risk of worsening floods.
Tomorrow, November 29, Mr. Natthapong, alongside People's Party MPs and water resource management experts, will travel to the three southern border provinces to monitor the situation. The delegation aims to support local relief efforts, coordinate with officials, and develop recovery and rehabilitation plans for communities once the crisis subsides. Mr. Natthapong also extended his encouragement to residents and frontline responders tackling the disaster.
