On November 15, a group of activists, including Thalugas and independent demonstrators, gathered outside Bangkok Remand Prison to host the event “This Loy Krathong, Some Can’t Go Home”. The activity aimed to raise awareness and support for at least 34 political detainees still imprisoned. Participants engaged in symbolic acts, such as floating krathongs, to convey solidarity with those detained.

The event, beginning at 4:00 PM, drew diverse attendees, including former Red Shirt activists, young demonstrators, and political activist Ekachai Hongkangwan. Some dressed in traditional Thai attire in honor of the Loy Krathong festival. By 5:00 PM, attendees moved to the prison gates, where they shared food, displayed banners with messages like “Amnesty for the Living, Justice for the Dead”, and prepared a symbolic floating ceremony in an inflatable water basin.

The evening featured live music performances by artists such as Chokdee Romphruek and "Nuad Rimtang," as well as a traditional Nang Noppamas beauty contest. A participant emphasized the importance of showing detainees they are not forgotten. The event continued until 8:00 PM.

As of now, the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights Center reports seven detainees were recently released, six under royal pardon and one juvenile after rehabilitation. However, concerns remain for several prisoners under Section 112 (Lèse-majesté), including Chane Chiwaobuncha, who is being treated for stroke-related symptoms while serving a 3.5-year sentence.
