The Thai Cabinet, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Phumtham Wechayachai, approved additional public holidays for 2025 and 2026. This decision aims to create extended holiday periods to support tourism and public convenience. The adjustments bring the total public holidays in 2025 to 21 days. The three newly added holidays are as follows:

1. Monday, June 2, 2025 - Added as a special holiday to create a four-day weekend from May 31 to June 3, in celebration of the Queen's Birthday.

2. Monday, August 11, 2025 - Designated as an extra holiday, resulting in a four-day weekend from August 9 to August 12, in honor of Mother's Day.

3. Friday, January 2, 2026 - Declared a special holiday to extend the New Year holiday period, creating a five-day break from December 31, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

These holiday extensions aim to facilitate travel and relaxation for the public during important national celebrations.
