The People's Party has intensified its campaign efforts in Udon Thani’s Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) election by fielding prominent figures to support candidate Kanisorn Khurirang. The party views Udon Thani as a strategic stronghold in northeastern Thailand, a region where it has invested heavily. Key campaigners include party leader Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, deputy leaders Sirikanya Tansakul and Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, and Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, chairman of the Progressive Movement, all working to rally support in the final week. The highlight will be former Move Forward Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat, who is set to return from the U.S. to campaign from November 15-17.
The election is drawing particular attention, as former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, regarded as a symbolic leader of the Pheu Thai Party, is also scheduled to campaign in Udon Thani on November 13-14 in support of Pheu Thai candidate Sarawut Phetpanomporn. With both parties mobilizing major figures, this local election is expected to be highly competitive.
