On July 1, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyuth, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, announced that the Cabinet had acknowledged the announcement of the Wage Committee regarding Minimum Wage Rates (Issue No. 14), as proposed by the Ministry of Labour. The new rates will take effect from July 1, 2025 onward.

The key point is the adjustment of the minimum daily wage to 400 baht in three main groups:

  • All types of businesses in Bangkok
  • Hotel businesses nationwide under the law (hotels of types 2, 3, and 4), excluding type 1 hotels that provide only accommodation with no more than 50 rooms
  • Service establishments nationwide under the Service Establishment Act, such as nightclubs, pubs, bars, massage parlours, karaoke venues, etc.

Mr. Boonsong stated that this wage increase resulted from collaboration among the government, employers, and employees, based on equality and consideration of all parties’ opinions. The goal is to enable businesses to continue operations while ensuring workers have adequate and appropriate income. This aims to raise the overall quality of life for general workers in line with current living costs, maintain business balance for employers, and sustainably drive economic growth.

The details of the new minimum wage rates, effective from July 1, 2025, are as follows:

  • 400 baht: Bangkok, Phuket, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Koh Samui district in Surat Thani, all hotels of types 2–4 nationwide, all service establishments nationwide
  • 380 baht: Mueang Chiang Mai District, Mueang Songkhla District
  • 372 baht: Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon
  • 359 baht: Nakhon Ratchasima
  • 358 baht: Samut Songkhram
  • 357 baht: Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai (excluding Mueang District), Prachinburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Saraburi
  • 356 baht: Lopburi
  • 355 baht: Nakhon Nayok, Suphan Buri, Nong Khai
  • 354 baht: Krabi, Trat
  • 352 baht: Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi, Chiang Rai, Tak, Nakhon Phanom, Buri Ram, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phang Nga, Phitsanulok, Mukdahan, Sakon Nakhon, Songkhla (excluding Hat Yai), Sa Kaeo, Surat Thani (excluding Koh Samui), Ubon Ratchathani
  • 351 baht: Chumphon, Phetchaburi, Surin
  • 350 baht: Nakhon Sawan, Yasothon, Lamphun
  • 349 baht: Kalasin, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Bueng Kan, Phetchabun, Roi Et
  • 348 baht: Chainat, Chaiyaphum, Phatthalung, Singburi, Ang Thong
  • 347 baht: Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Maha Sarakham, Mae Hong Son, Ranong, Ratchaburi, Lampang, Loei, Si Sa Ket, Satun, Sukhothai, Nong Bua Lamphu, Amnat Charoen, Udon Thani, Uttaradit, Uthai Thani
  • 345 baht: Trang, Nan, Phayao, Phrae
  • 337 baht: Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala

Mr. Boonsong emphasized that this wage adjustment is based on a commitment to the well-being of all Thai workers and will be followed by further policies to promote job security, income stability, and better quality of life.
