At 12:20 PM on June 24 at Government House, Tourism and Sports Minister Srong Thiengthong announced that the Cabinet has approved economic stimulus projects totaling 110 billion baht, from a budget framework of 157 billion baht, as proposed by the Ministry of Finance.
Among the approved programs is the “Half-Half Travel” scheme, with a budget allocation of 1.75 billion baht. Last week, the government opened pre-registration for businesses to join the program. Today, the Tourism Authority of Thailand confirmed that public registration will open tonight, and eligible citizens can begin using the travel subsidy starting July 1.
