On June 18, Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, Commander of the Second Army Region, revealed that Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra personally called him to clarify her recent conversation with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen, which was leaked online.
He said the Prime Minister explained that her remarks were part of a behind-the-scenes diplomatic effort aimed at easing Thai-Cambodian border tensions. Boonsin responded, “I have no issue. I understand.”
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for his understanding, and both parties agreed there were no lingering concerns. Boonsin emphasized that he is focused on national service and the welfare of the people.
He added that he is currently visiting troops injured during border missions and is continuing his duties as usual.
