On June 13, police in Mueang Phuket District received a report about six suspicious explosive devices hidden near old tires in Soi Tha Chin, Rassada Subdistrict. Local residents discovered the tires and, upon examining them, triggered an explosion. Two people sustained minor injuries from the blast impact and shrapnel.
Initial investigations suggest that local youths may have planted or hidden the explosives. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to identify the perpetrators.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units have secured the scene and collected the remaining devices for safety procedures and further analysis.
