On June 13, 2025, at 8:00 PM, three armed assailants ambushed and shot a local security officer (Chor. Chor. Tor.) in Taling Chan Subdistrict, Bannang Sata District. The attack took place in the village of Tabing Ting-ngi. One officer sustained injuries and was given first aid by fellow officers and community leaders before being transferred to Bannang Sata Hospital. The injured officer is conscious and receiving medical treatment.
The group behind the attack is believed to be linked to Mr. Nordin Hayee-acha, as local residents had observed suspicious movements in the area over the past 4–5 days.
One of the assailants was reportedly wounded in the exchange of gunfire. The group then hijacked a local resident’s Isuzu V-Cross pickup truck (license plate: กง 6453 Pattani) to transport the injured member, heading toward Yala city.
