The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Thai citizens to remain vigilant and closely follow announcements and warnings from Thai embassies in the region. Thai nationals are advised to avoid travel to affected areas unless absolutely necessary, or to consider leaving while commercial flights are still operational.
On the morning of June 13, Israel launched a major airstrike targeting multiple sites in Iran. Israeli authorities described the operation as a preemptive strike focused on military and nuclear-related facilities in various provinces of Iran, with operations expected to continue for several days.
On the same day, Israel declared a nationwide state of emergency in anticipation of potential Iranian retaliation. By late morning on June 13, 2025, Iran had reportedly launched over 100 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) toward Israel. Israel has since closed its airspace until further notice.
As tensions rise between Israel and Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses concern for Thai citizens in potentially affected areas. The Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran has been in contact with the Thai community and local Thai associations. So far, no Thai nationals have been reported injured or affected by the situation. The Embassy has urged all Thai nationals in Iran to carry their travel documents at all times in case of emergency. Thai embassies in the region have also issued alerts outlining emergency preparedness and response protocols.
In the event of an emergency, Thai nationals are encouraged to seek immediate assistance from any Royal Thai Embassy.
Thailand is deeply concerned about the escalating situation and urges all parties to exercise restraint to avoid further deterioration that would inevitably affect innocent civilians. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to monitor developments closely and coordinate with relevant agencies to provide necessary assistance to Thai nationals in the region. Emergency evacuation plans have already been prepared by the relevant embassies and can be activated as needed.
