At 1:55 p.m. on June 13, Phuket International Airport (HKT) provided an update on the bomb threat involving Air India Flight AI 379, operating the route from Phuket to Delhi.
The threat was received mid-flight around 9:30 a.m., prompting the airport to activate its Airport Contingency Plan (ACP), Chapter 3, which deals specifically with in-flight bomb threats.
As part of emergency measures, the airport established an Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to manage the situation. The aircraft was directed to park at Stand 99, an isolated bay designated for such incidents. Passengers and their carry-on belongings were subjected to thorough inspections.
All 156 passengers have been relocated to the Passenger Holding Area at Bus Gates 81–82, where they are waiting while an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team conducts a detailed search for explosives or suspicious items. Authorities will provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
