At 1:00 a.m. on June 11, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Aemla, Deputy Commissioner overseeing narcotics, and Pol. Col. Narent Khruengsanuk, Superintendent of Hua Mak Police Station, ordered Pol. Lt. Wachirawit Kongkraisasawat and patrol officers to investigate a report of a foreign patient with seizures and suspicious items at the emergency room of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital in Suan Luang, Bangkok.

Upon arrival, hospital staff informed the officers that the patient had been transferred from Don Mueang Airport after showing signs of seizures. During the initial examination, doctors discovered pink liquid discharge from the patient's anus and conducted a CT scan, which revealed multiple round objects in the intestines. One of the objects, resembling narcotics, had exited the body.

Police were notified, and lab analysis confirmed the substance was methamphetamine (Yaba), classified as a Type 1 narcotic. A total of 255 red, round-flat pills marked "WY" were found in the body of Mr. Gantner Wolfgang, a 43-year-old Austrian national.

During the seizure process, the suspect was unconscious and awaiting surgery. Authorities believe the drug-filled packets may have ruptured inside his stomach, causing the symptoms. The seized drugs were handed over to Hua Mak Police Station investigators for legal proceedings.
