On June 8, reporters reported that at 10:00 AM near the Chong Bok border area, Cambodian military forces contacted the Suranaree Task Force to request a negotiation.

The Suranaree Task Force reported to Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Region, who then informed Gen. Phana Klaewplodtook, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, to seek approval for the meeting. The army chief granted permission for Suranaree forces to proceed with the discussions.

The resolution reached was that both sides would withdraw their troops to the positions they held in 2024.

Cambodian forces also agreed to fill in the trench they had dug and restore the area to its original condition. As of now, both sides have withdrawn their troops back to their previous positions.

Additionally, both military sides have agreed to hold weekly meetings at the location to maintain ongoing communication.
