On June 6, 12 million baht in cash was discovered hidden in a plastic container discarded at the garbage area near the elevator on the 4th floor of Building P2 in Muang Thong Thani condominium.

Later, at 4:50 PM on June 8, Pak Kret Police Station summoned Mr. Taweewat Saengkaew, who claimed to be the owner of the 12 million baht, for a second time to provide further information and documentation about the money's origin and legality. The questioning lasted over three hours.

Mr. Taweewat briefly told the media that his visit involved three matters: 1) fingerprint or DNA verification, 2) verifying and expanding on the information to determine the money’s origin, and 3) he will need to give testimony again at an unspecified date. He noted that he had limited evidence since the incident occurred 5–6 years ago.

He affirmed that further investigation would be needed to verify the money’s ownership, insisting it belongs to him. He stated that he wouldn’t have pursued the case otherwise. If it is proven the money isn’t his, he could face charges for false testimony. If the money is found to be illicit, he could also face imprisonment. As a lawyer, he said he understands the legal implications well.

When asked about a video clip he reportedly sent to the condo’s management, Mr. Taweewat said he had already handed everything over to the police. When questioned about concerns regarding a political group requesting the Revenue Department to investigate the money, he declined to answer, adding only that he would comply with further summons if necessary.

Mr. Taweewat later left through a crowd of reporters, crossed the pedestrian bridge to Nawamintharachinuthit Horwang Nonthaburi School, and took a taxi back to his condo.

Meanwhile, Pol. Col. Apisak Chotikasathien, Superintendent of Pak Kret Police Station, told the media that the police's duty is to verify the ownership of the 12 million baht. Currently, only one individual has claimed the money. They are examining evidence from banks, fingerprints on the banknotes, and all available documents. Determining the legality of the funds is the responsibility of other relevant authorities.

Regarding reports of 3 million baht found in Mr. Taweewat’s room, Pol. Col. Apisak denied the claim, stating that Mr. Taweewat is not a suspect, so the police have no authority to search his room. However, police did inspect his room based on his statement about a water leak, which was confirmed.
